Cowley Way is a learning disability care home located in Bentilee, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. The home has 8 male Service Users that have a range of needs including mental health conditions, learning disabilities and physical health needs. All the Service Users are able to access the community with the support of one or two staff.
The longstanding staff team are hard working and strive to deliver the best possible levels of care to the people that they support. They all have excellent relationships with the Service Users and once trained are able to take up a key worker role. The home is a fun place to work, no two days are the same and the Service Users love to have a joke and laugh with the team and also like to go out.
As a Support Worker you will;
·Deliver care and support in accordance with a Service User’s Care Plan.
·Attend Support Planning Meetings and participate in the process of planning care and support.
·Help Service Users to achieve personal goals and live as independently as possible.
·Maintain a Service User’s dignity and respect and specifically identify an individual’s special requirements associated with their race, culture and/or religion.
·To work with families and other professionals in ways that generates positive outcomes for individual Service Users.
·Respect an individual’s privacy by maintaining confidentiality and data protection regarding all personal information at all times.
To carry out the role of Support Worker at Cowley Way you will need to be;
·Motivated with a cheerful disposition.
·Outgoing, interested in people and willing to take part in activities such as; day trips, walk around the local town, cinema, Theatre etc.
·Confident and able to support Service Users out in local community on a one to one basis.
·A quick thinker that possesses the ability to solve problems.
·Reliable and honest with a genuine interest in people.
