Stafford Avenue is a learning disability care home located in Clayton, Staffordshire. The home has 5 male Service Users that have a range of needs including mental health conditions, learning disabilities and challenging behaviours. Three of the Service Users are able to access the community with the support of one staff and two of the service users are able to access the community independently but may need support at times.
The longstanding staff team strive to deliver the best possible levels of care to the people that they support. They all have excellent relationships with the Service Users and key workers are matched to Service Users considering their personalities and Service User preferences. The home is a fun place to work, no two days are the same and the Service Users love to have a joke and laugh with the team and enjoy accessing the community.
As a Support Worker you will;
Work as part of a dedicated team
Deliver care and support in accordance with a Service User’s Care Plan.
Attend Support Planning Meeting and participate in the process of planning care and support.
Help Service Users to achieve personal goals and live as independently as possible.
Maintain a Service User’s dignity and respect and specifically identify an individual’s special requirements associated with their race, culture and/or religion.
To work with families and other professionals in ways that generates positive outcomes for individual Service Users.
Respect an individual’s privacy by maintaining confidentiality and data protection regarding all personal information at all times.
To carryout the role of Support Worker at Stafford Avenue you will need to be;
Motivated with a cheerful disposition.
Outgoing, interested in people and willing to take part in activities such as; day trips, walks, visits to the local town, cinema, theatre etc.
Confident and able to support Service Users out in local community on a one to one basis.
A quick thinker that possesses the ability to problem solve.
Reliable and honest with a genuine interest in people.
